SINGLIJAN CLASSIC SUMMER BLACK TEAAn excellent breakfast tea, sweet, medium bodied and malty. This tea from Singlijan is exceptionally beautiful in appearance with its clean small leaves flushed with tips. We think it checks every box for a superb Assam: malty, strong liquor, honeyed biscuity flavor, good briskness and yet soft and rounded. The liquor is medium bodied and slightly astringent at the edges. Notes of wood, spice are discernible in the cup along with charred notes and hints of malt.
SINGLIJAN TEA ESTATE, ASSAM, INDIAThe Singlijan tea estates is one the leading producers of high quality Assam black teas. The estate gets its name from the Assamese word ‘Hingoolijan’ which means the ‘river of the Hingooli fish’. About 271 hectares of the 400 hectare-wide estate is under tea, planted with high quality clones. Their total annual yield is about 0.56 million Kgs, most of which is accounted for by the CTC grade tea.
