Lopchu is one of Darjeeling's oldest and most popular tea estates. It is situated between Darjeeling and the Teesta River, Lopchu teas have always been sought by tea connoisseurs around the world for their fragrant leaf and excellent quality. Lopchu estate has around 226 acres under tea production and tea is grown at an elevation of 4,800 ft. above sea level. Most of the tea plants were originally transplanted from Yunnan Province in China.
